    Originally, Korea was divided in half, on latitude line 38. but thenNorth Korea invaded the South. The U.S joined on the South's side to force the North to a halt. Then, the U.S helped the South to push back and gain all of their land plus some. After that, North Korea forces the South back to the 37th parallel. Finally, the Shouth pushes back up to the 38th and ends the stalemate.

    As tensions grew, USA, Canada, and another 10 nations created the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) which is where members pledged to protect others if they were attacked by another country.

Mao triumphed for many reasons, mainly because his word got out to the people so they wanted to follow him.     In 1959, Fidel Castro organizes a rebellion against the corrupt ruler of Cuba. In mid 1959, Castro had led his guerilla forces to victory and tried to revolutionize Cuba. Castro had nationalized business, and put most land under government control. He also restricted political freedom. Cuba was now Communist.

    A wall was created in Berlin to divide it in half. It separated it into East and West Berlin. The wall was first just barbed wire, but then after escapes, it was built up with concrete blocks and more barbed wire.

    Cuban Missile Crisis
    The Soviet Union sent missiles to Cuba in 1962. Kennedy then created a naval blockade around Cuba that prevented further Soviet missile shipments. Kennedy demanded that the Soviets remove their missiles from Cuba. after a few days, they agreed and removed them.
