French and Indian War

  • The Cause

    George Washington's militia attacked French soldiers, who counterattacked forcing Washington to surrender. These battles were the cause of the French and Indian war.
  • The Beginning

    Braddock and the British army of 1,500 soldiers attempted to attack Fort Duquese but were not used to the French and Native's style of fighting. They fled from the the battle.
  • Time of Defeat

    After the loss of the battle at Fort Duquesne the British army began to lose battle after battle. These losses lasted between 1755 and 1756.
  • A New Attempt

    A New Attempt
    A new politician, named William Pitt helpd the British army begin winning battles. When the British began winning the Iroquis decided to join them.
  • The War Ends

    The War Ends
    Th British troops led by general James Wolfe fought the French in a battle just outside of Quebec. They supprised the French and eventually won the deadly battle. This battle led to British victory in the war. Britian claimed all land east of the Mississippi River.
  • One Final Solution

    One Final Solution
    The Ottawa leader felt threatened, beacuse he believed that British settler moving west would drive away their game. Britain solved this problem by creating the Proclamatioin of 1763. The Proclamation of 1763 prohibited all settlement west of the Appalachians.
