    Mussolini takes power in Italy
    Mussolini became the 40th Prime Minister of Italy. Once elected in 1922 stayed in power until 1943 and shortly after his short leave from office came back until his death.
  • Stalin takes power in USSR

    He had started in bitter poverty and later became the ruler of a country that is 1/5 the size of the worlds land mass. This rise to power took place after lenin died in 1924 Stalin was the next best in line to take power.

    Japan invades Manchuria
    The Japanese Army attacked Chinese troops in Manchuria. This was an attempt by the Japanese Empire to gain control over the whole province, in order to eventually encompass all of East Asia.

    Was the 32 President of the United States. The only president to serve 4 terms and changed America like no other president. His first 100 days are still compared to the current presidents 100 days and helped bring the US out of its first depression.

    Is seen as a great figure and helped Germany out of a rough economy and become one of the great powers of its time. One of the most fear people in the entire world. And created the Nazi regime which killed almost a total of 10 to 12 millon people half of which were of Jewish decent.

    Hitler did not listen to what the Treaty of Versallies said and went ahead and began to send troops into the Rhineland. The reason he took the Rhineland was because the French could easily get to the Rurh which was their industrial strong hold basically.

When the initial military plan failed to win control of the country, a bloody civil war broke out by both sides.     It was a speech about the countries well being to people in Chicago. And how war is inevitable and to stand behind Roosevelt in his decision for war.

    This was the mass murder of over half the Chinese soldiers in the town of Nanjing. The Chinese soldiers outnumber the Japs six to one and still lost half of their men in the city.
  • Hitler sent troops into Austria and announced anshluss

    Union with Germany had been a dream of Austrian Social Democrats..Adolf Hitler and his authoritarian rule made such a proposition less attractive, though, which was an ironic twist, since a union between the two nations was also a dream of Hitler's, a native Austrian.

    The German invasion of Poland was a test on how Hitler intended to wage war--what would become the "blitzkrieg" strategy. They would strike the enemy and destory as much as they could by bombing them and once they did as much as they could would invade with mass numbers of ground units.     It was a pact saying that if one of the Axis powers declared war on the US the other two would have to come and help out. Japan was the only one interested in this becasue it would help them more than it would help Germany and Italy.

    Was the treaty signed by Roosevelt and Churchill off the coast of Newfoundland saying that they would have a Joint declartion of War on facism.
  • The attack on Pearl Harbor

    The attack on Pearl Harbor
    Was an attack by the Japanese on our Naval fleet yard where they created devastating loses for the US not only in ships but in lives. Luckily our strongest ships including several aircraft carriers had not been in port at the time which would help to fight the war later on.
  • Germany and Italy Declare War on the U.S

  • Internment of Japanese-Americans begins

    Executive orders from the President order the military to take Japanese-Americans in land from the ship yards and military bases so that they would not let the Japanese know if they were spying or not.
  • Zoot-suit riot

    It was when young latino men who had their dress up were wrongly attacked for something of free speech. The police agreed with them and arrested a few sailors to look like they did something but realsed them very quickly.
  • The Allies declare war on Japan

    The neutrality pact between the Soviet Union and Japan was concluded, before the attack of Germany on the USSR and before the outbreak of war between Japan on the one hand and England and the United States on the other.
