    The Battle of Pearl Harbor was a surprise military strike the Imperial Japanese Navy did against the United States naval base at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, on the morning of December 7, 1941. This attack was meant to keep the U.S. Pacific Fleet from interfering with Japan's plans to attack the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, and the United States. 188 U.S aircraft were destroyed, 2,402 men were kileed and 1,282 wounded. This attack led directly to the American entry to WWII.

    Germany Surrenders at Stalingrad
    The Battle of Stalingrad began in the summer of 1942. The German 6th Army and part of the $th could not break past the defense by the Soviet 62nd Army. Diminishing resources, partisan guerilla attacks, and the cruelty of the Russian winter began to take their toll on the Germans. On November 19, the Soviets made their move, launching a counter offensive that began with a maissive artillery momardment of the German position.

    on June 6, 1944, 160,000 Allied forces arrived on the beaches of Normandy, France to fight Nazi Germany. Over 5,000 ships and 13,000 aircrafts aided the D-Day invasion. Dwight D. Eisenhower called the operation a crusade in which "we will accept nothing less than full victory.” On this day, more than 9,000 Allied soldiers were killed or wounded, but over 100,000 soldiers began their march across Europe.
