In 1590 when John White returned to Roanoke he saw that there was nobody there. It was like they disappeared in thin air! Then when he looked over he saw the word "CROATOAN" carved into a tree nearby. Croatoan was a local tribe. John White desperately went to find the Croatoan village, but when he was trying to find them a hurricane arose which has forced him to go back to England. John White never got to see his family again.

In 1607 a group of over 100 men have landed on the banks of Virginia's James river which was not healthy to drink. Probably because it was dirty and had dead fish or animals in it. Then they were immediately attacked by some of my people but we were determined to stay. Their leader, John Smith told them to build a fort to protect them. However winter pounded their settlement. Then they were running out of food and they started to get sick.

Captain Smith came back from England in 1609 when he became sick, and I stopped visiting the settlement. Then the relations between the settles and the Powhatan nation go weak. Four years passed by and I heard that died so I came back to visit the Jamestown. I was imprisoned because my father had some of their weapons and men. He returned a portion of them so they decided to move me to another settlement and also converted me to Christianity.

The high winds just blew over the sail and the storms are making our ship rock back and forth. That is what happened to my family on the Mayflower back in 1620. My parents had to find ways to protect themselves during really bad weather. They also had to live on dried biscuits called "hard tack" , salted beef, and other dried veggies until they could cook on deck. It took more than 2 months to sail from England to the new world. There was also a baby born. It was me! My parents named me Oceanus.

After our first successful harvest in the fall of 1621. Governor William Bradford held a celebration feast. We wanted to share our harvest of food, so we invited Squanto, Chief Massasoit, and 90 Wampanoag people. They brought food too. Our celebration lasted 3 whole days! This began a tradition in America that you call Thanksgiving!

In 1623 the Pilgrims had a very important war. I'm not sure what it was about because I never knew. Whatever they were fighting about must have been very important. If it wasn't important why would they be have guns and be lining up.

In 1645 it looks like the Pilgrims are getting out of a boat. I wonder where they were heading. Of course I don't know why they are doing this. They probably moved or visited somewhere. Like England or they are coming back from England. I'm not sure.
