This compromise divided the remaining Louisiana Purchased territories into Slave and Slave-free zones. The compromise however eventually couldn't save the union, and many often viewed it as the death nail of the union. -

This act would result in all natives being moved west of the Mississippi and is most notable for causing the Trail of Tears. -

This would be between the Northern Union and the seceded Southern Confederacy, with the main reason being slavery. This war would last for 4 years and would be the bloodiest war in American history. In 1865 the Union would be victorious, and the Confederacy would rejoin the Union. -

Honest Abe is declared the 16th President of the United States, and would soon lead the country through Civil War, -
Battle of Gettysberg
Happened in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, and would be the bloodiest battle in American history with over 50,000 dead. This would result in a Union victory and was Lee's last northern incursion. -
Surrender at Appomattox Court House
The Confederacy would surrender to the Union at Appomattox Court House in Virginia, and this would finally lead to the end of the American Civil War.
