Thomas Jefferson was the 3rd president in the United States. He is best known for buying the Louisiana Purchase for America. He helped created the Declaration of Independence and also signed it. He became a founding father by signing the Declaration of Independence. -

The War of 1812 started when there was a conflict between the United States and Great Britain. It was over British violations the United States didn't follow. It also included their allies and having conflicts with them. The war went on for almost two years and ended with a piece treaty. -
The Typewriter
William Austin Burt invented they first ever typewriter. He invented because he thought it would be easier for people to press on keys instead of having to hand write for work or school. It was also faster than writing but it wasn't as famous when the typewriter first came out. A few months later he made improvements so it could be even better. -
The California Gold Rush
People from China moved to California, but people from California didn't like that. They didn't like all the immigrants being in California because they were different. The people from China that moved to California were there to work, they built roads, train tracks, and mined for gold. Even though they did all of this for them the people of California still didn't like all the immigrants being there and would sometimes mistreat them because they came from a different country. -

The Civil War was mainly about differences from the north and south. The North wanted to be free states for all people and the South didn't, they wanted to be able to have slaves. In the civil war about six hundred thousand people died fighting. The Civil War was about Abraham Lincoln and his plan on running the country. In the end the country was free of slavery. -

Alfred Nobel was the one who invented dynamite. Dynamite became very popular because it was used in battles against enemies. He didn't just invent dynamite he also invented other kids of explosives that also became famous for battle.
