Why is it needed?
Some people are really scummy and only wanna hurt other people, and unfortunately business people will do whatever it takes for increased profits, and if this practice wast outlawed you would see companies sell personal information, I mean they sell information that inst protected by this act, so why wouldn't they sell everything else if the act was repealed -

How it impacts me
I work at a retail store and obviously I deal with peoples personal information everyday so its very important for me to understand the law and store policy that says I'm supposed to rip every receipt, so this law impacts my work life as well as my personal life. Everyone spends money, everyone has information that they don't want other people to get and this law protects and makes it very hard to access other peoples personal information, which everyone should appreciate
