    1991 -
    Gulf War is first U.S. reduction of a regional power and this had an impact because it made people doubt America's regional power.
  • Rap Music

    Rap music becomes more prominent, leading to more diversity in music. To some this could be a good thing or a bad thing, since most rap musis now is very explicit. Depending on the person, this was a good happening or a bad one.
  • George Bush, becomes president

    George Bush was very controversial, because of many of his decisions in his 8 years as being president. Many people hated him.
  • Terrorist Attack on Twin Towers

    This was an attack on American soil by terrorists. They hijacked planes and crashed into the the Twin Towers in New York and attempted to crash into the Pentagon. It killed more than 2000 of our people.
  • President Bush declares "War on Terrorism"

    President Bush delivered an inspirational speech to America that rallied support for the “War on Terror." He said we should combat this terrorism.
  • America declares war on Iraq

    This affected many people: soldiers, their families, and civilians in Iraq. Many people believed Bush was only trying to protect oil in Iraq, but others firmly thought he was doing the right thing in defending the country.
  • Fahrenheit 9/11 documentary is released

    This documentary made by Michael Moore questioned George Bush's reasons for declaring war. Many of these "facts" were proven inaccurate, but was still very effective. Many people believed what Moore was trying to show and this turned much of the nation against Bush.
  • 2008-2009 Economic Crisis

    An economic crisis is declared. Many peoplee lost their jobs and stocks went down. It was tought ecnomically for a lot of Americans.
  • Barack Obama, first black president

    Barack Obama was the first black president in the history of America. This was a major step for a lot of African Americans; after this event many of them did feel as equals. Though many of his policies were very liberal and upset many Conservatives.
  • Modern Day Bostern Tea Party

    Because of the Fox News Channel which organized many of these, many Americans displayed a modern-day Boston Tea Party. The Americans were outraged at the tax laws and were rebelling, much like in the 1700's. This effected America because it turned some of the country against Barack Obama.
