Jews and Christians in the Ottoman Empire did not have easy life. They were second class citizens. Also, they could not carry weapons, ride a horse, have a big house, and were not considered equals to Muslims. -

Around this time the British, French, and Russian's told the Ottoman Empire to be nicer to it's religious people along with other culture's. With that help the Greeks broke free from the Ottoman's while the Armenians did nothing. -

After doing nothing for years after the Armenian's wanted to be treated like everybody else. They wanted freedom like the Greeks. -
Young Turk Revolution
The road brightened a little for the Armenian people when the old government was overthrown, and a new Turkish government came in. With this new government they were accepted more than the old one. -
Adana massacre
In a revolt in the in the new Turkish government military force came and killed 15 to 30 thousand Armenian people. The terror lasted a month. The reason they were killed was because they supported the New turkish government. -

The Armenian people were killed by being burned to death, poison, suffocation, death marches, shot, and starved to death. -
The Central Powers
The Ottoman Empire joined the war Against the Allies in an attempt to get land back that they had lost to Russia. After a huge loss, the Armenians were blamed. Just like the Jews were for the loss of World War 1. -

The starting of the Genocide began on April 24th 1915. -

On this date the most famous and popular Armenian people were arrested and deported to the capital. This was known as the Red Sunday. -
The Masterminds
The Genocide was carried out by the Turkish government who killed Armenian people along with Greeks and Assyrians. -
The Comittee
"The Committee [of Union and Progress] demands the annihilation of the last remnants of the Armenians and the [Ottoman] government must bow to its demands." This is a quote from the German Ambassador. The Comittee was a group of criminals who were called the "butcher battalions," -
The Death toll
The death of the Genocide was around 1.5 million deaths. It ended around the same time World War 1 did. -

Around the end of World War 1 The terror for the Armenian people was pretty much over.
