Students will share their dream jobs. As a group we will determine what specific skills, specialized training, and education is necessary to acquire their dream jobs.

We will talk about the three main different types of colleges and the types of degrees and certificates the offer:

1. Career Schools
2. Two-Year Community College
3. Four-Year University

Explore with specific examples how a college education will offer more money, job opportunites, and more freedom than just a high school education.

WHAT CAN I DO NOW TO GET READY FOR COLLEGE?

Students will create a checklist of strategies on how to become college ready. Example Checklist:
-Develop strong study habits that help earn good grades and test scores.
-Pay attention in class and participate/
-Read more - at keast one book every month, for fun.
-Speak with adults who have interesting jobs.
