    The importance of the Mexican American war was that we fought for land. Eventually, we won the land that we call today as the southwest region of the U.S.

    The Homestead Act resulted in a significant shift in population from the eastern regoin to the missouri.

The end of World War II saw the beginning of the Cold War and the conflict between the east (Soviet Union) and the west (United States) and the allies of each.

    On this same day, 4 large airplanes were hijacked. 2 of them hit the World Trade Center building, 1 of them hit the Pentagon, and the other one failed to reach its destination. It was going to hit the white house but crashed in a field in Pennsylvania. Ever since then, airport security has been a lot tighter and you are limited to the thing that you can bring on the plane.
