Declaration of Independence
The 13 Colonies sent the Declaration of Independence to the British in 1776. By sending this it made the King of Britain mad and out of control. -
The Constitution
The Constitution sets the laws that define and often limit the governmant's power. -
The Indian Removal Act
Congress forced the Native Americans to leave their homelands. They then sent them to a place called the Indian Territory. THe Indian Territory didn't have very good land for growing the crops to eat. Which was hard for the Native Americans to change their life styles to fit the surrounding lands. -
World War 1
The U.S. strated the war in Europe, and in 1918 the U.S. joined Allied Powers of Great Britain and France. -
The Great Depression
A lot of people lost their jobs leading to people becoming poor, and companies shutting down. -
The Holocaust
Adolf Hitler force the Jews, Gypsies, Slavs, and others in to brutal Prison camps where they were mudered or killed. -
World War 2
Germany's ally, Japan, attacked the U.S. naval base at Pearl Harbor. -
Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated
In Memphis, Tennessee while lending support to a sanitation workers' strike. He was shot by James Earl Ray at approximately 7:05 P.M., and is said to have died an hour later. -
Flight 93
At 10:06 A.M. Flight 93 crashes into the Pennsylvania countryside, about 80 miles southeast of Pittsburgh, of 124 miles away from Washington DC.
