This crisis started in Thailand with the financial collapse of the Thai baht. Japan's economy is the second largest in the world today, but it is deteriorating at its worst pace since the 1970's. This is due to the shrinking amount of exports and very little spending inside of the country itself. The economy did not compare with the third quarter of 2008, as it had receded 3.3 percent since then.
