    Columbian Exchange
    The Columbian Exchange was an exchanging of goods that started with Christopher Columbus landing in the Americas, which he thought was the west indies. Many things were changed between the Europeans and the Americans. The Europenas got turkeys, cocoa and rice, while the AMericans got horses and most importantly, disease.

    Colinization of the Spanish
    The Spanish were the first to colonize in the Carribean, leading with Hernan Cortes in Hisponiola. La Noche Triste was a huge set back for Cortes, but he was still able to take over the Aztecs. But, not everyone agreed with what the Spanish were doing to the Americans. Bartolome de las Casas was completely against it, and tried to get the genocide to stop.

    Incan Empire

    Incan Empire
    The Incan Empire was finally defeated by the Spaniards led by Francisco Pizarro. Pizarro, named the conquistador of Mexico, was a cousin of Hernan Cortes and was the founder of Lima, the capital of Peru. The Incans built many sites, but Machu Picchu is the most famous, being discovered in 1983

    The Latin American Revolt
    The Latin American revolt was a war against Spain for Independence for all of Latin America. Led by Simon Bolivar, a Venezuelan political leader, and Toussaint Louverture, the leader of the Haitian Revolution, they were able to succesfully free themselves from Spanish rule.

    THe Aztecs were the more modern of the 3 major empires of Latin America. They, like the other two, were over taken by the Spanish Colonizers. Montezuma was one of the leaders, and was a big factor in the expansion and the importance of Tenochtitlan.
