    7.2 Exosystem
This was the day my parents got married. My dad being the youngest of 7 and my mom being the eldest of 3, and my father who has royal blood in this veins (Pic of his grandfather as a king/leader is shown). My parents lived with my father's side of the family in a big house with 12 adults and 12 boys. The fact that I was the first girl, made my parents and my grandparents value me more than any other child in my family. Because of this, I was raised as a princess before my parents moved to Toront
  • 1.1 Birth

I was born a pre-mature baby who was 2 months early. I was really lucky to be alive because of the complications at birth. Because of my fragility, my parents worked hard day and night trying to make me healthy enough to live day by day.
  • 4.2 First Word

My first word was "Mom". This is quite surprising because I was not raised in an english speaking environment. However, I could interpret this word as "Mom" as in mother or "Mum" as in food in my language. Either way, my first word is associated with the people I love and the things I liked to do when I was young, which was to eat. Both of these words that are very familiar to me.
  • 3.1 Preoperational Magnetism

    3.1 Preoperational Magnetism
To preoperational kids who like to pretend play, we can explain magnetism by role play. We can have them dress up like mommy and another dressed up like daddy. We can tell them that magnetism is like when mommy and daddy like each other and they can pretend that they are mommy and daddy. At this stage, the can only realize that opposites attract in a very narrow range of things that they have been exposed to like boys and girls, mother and father etc.
  • 5.1 Kohlberg's and Gender

Based on Parker's responses, I think that Parker is somewhere about 2 to 3 yeras old. i think this because when her mother asked her about the gender of various people that she knows, Parker for the most part identified each person correctly. However, when her mother asked her about herself, she thought about it for a bit and then responded she was a boy. This might either be her being "silly" like her mother pointed out or she might not fully grasp about her identity which makes her abt 2 or 3.
  • 6.1 Self-Conscious emotion

From what I remember as a child and from what my parents told me, I was a very affectionate child. I loved it when people came over to our house because I would always want to play with them and I loved people who were my age, older or younger. Since I was an only child for 6 years before my brother came into our family, I remember smilng a lot and I used to love giving hugs to people I knew.
  • 4.1 Memory

The earliest memory that I can recall at this time is my third birthday party. I remember being on the rooftop on my house and I remember having many friends and family members at the party. This is the earliest memory I can recall because according to one of the theories, it is important for me to realize myself before I can process any memories about myself. At about that age, I had realized why we celebrate my birthday and why it is about me.
  • 2.1 Passive Gene Environment Correlation

    2.1 Passive Gene Environment Correlation
My parents loved to travel and take pictures of me at different places. Ever since I was a child, i remember traveling a lot and my parents would put up pictures of me modeling around the house. Because of this, I grew up to love to travel to new places, even though they may have been out of my luxury zone. This eagerness to travel and take pictures all came from my parent's passion of traveling.
  • 8.1 Children and Television

When I was younger, I used to watch TV shows like Tom and Jerry and Scooby Doo. At around age 5, I would watch these shows and fantasize about being smart like Velma. At this young age, I wouldn't realize that these characters are fictional, and therefore, every time my mother wanted to eat vegetables or obey her, she would tell me that "If I don't eat my vegetables, the zombie or the sand monster would come and eat me." I would imagine the monsters come out of the TV if I didn't obey my mom.
  • 7.1 Parenting Strategies

    7.1 Parenting Strategies
My parents described their parenting style in a reward and punishment like manner. They would reward me for my good deeds and punish me by grounding me. My parents also pushed me in academics and sports to help me find my niche in the community. They were more authoritative because they knew when to act like parents and when to act like friends. Because we were such good children, they were not much power assertive and we used to obey their commands pretty much all the time because of the reward
  • 5.2 Encouraging Gender Schemas

    5.2 Encouraging Gender Schemas
As a young girl, I was actually enrolled in a private elementary school. This factor affected my lifestyle in many ways. In a private school setting with only girls, the teachers would rarely talk about boys in our classroom and I remember that during playtime, the only toys we would have in our treasure chests were "girl" related toys like barbies or playhouse and rarely do I remember seeing a toy truck. Not only that, but my school uniform used to be pink (shown here) and my brother's was blue
  • 3.2 Concrete Magnetism

    3.2 Concrete Magnetism
One way to explain magnetism to them is to have them conduct the lemon battery experiment. Using two lemons, 2 copper pennies, 2 iron nails and three pieces of wire. Attach one wire to penny, attach another wire to iron. Attach last wire to penny and nail at both ends. Insert penny into one lemon, 3rd wire nail into lemon one and attach 3rd wire penny and nail of wire two into lemon two. should feel tingle on tongue. Then explain how positive and negative attracted in this experiment.
  • 2.3 Evocative Gene Environment Correlation

    2.3 Evocative Gene Environment Correlation
Ever since 1st grade, I was such a bookworm. The library would be my favorite place to go after school. The librarian, knew me so while after a while, that she would encourage me to keep reading. She would recommend books for me that were one level higher than my actual reading level, helping me build a strong sense of vocabulary and an interest in reading novels at a young age.
  • 2.2 Active Gene Environment Correlation

My manual dexterity skills were sharpened from an early age. I would love to draw, color and paint. As I got a little bit older, I started preferring freestyle sketching and shading rather than any other types of art. I would spend hours just doodling and using me pencil to draw, and shade random objects around the house.
  • 6.3 Foreclosure

As a young girl, I always wanted to become like my father. He is a successful dentist and ever since I can remember, whenever someone asked me what I wanted to be, I would answer 'dentist'. Since middle school, I knew i had to get into this science field so I was well committed to prepare myself to get into that path. I didn't think of any other options because I was focused solely on dentistry.
  • 6.2 Self Control

Ever since I was a child, I used to fast every 15 days for religious reasons. As a child, we would get only some restrictions on the diet like so it wasn't too bad but the fact that we were restricted made me want chocolate even more. However, because I knew that I should fast, every time I would have to talk myself out of eating anything I'm not supposed to and would eat healthier food like fruits instead.
  • 8.2 School Transition

    8.2 School Transition
This was our class picture of 6th grade (last year in elementary shcool). My hardest transition was going into middle school because there was a complete change of envrironment in school and in my body. We had to move to different classes, see new teachers for every subject and our class sizes were much bigger. We actually had more responsibility because of lockers and our new sets of books. This helped me become more mature and responsible as I was growing up.
  • 1.2 Theories

    1.2 Theories
The turning point of my life was the day I moved to Diamond Bar, California from Toronto, Canada. I had felt some sense of freedom that I had never felt before. Bronfenbrenner would say that this different environment developed much of my teenage years because my friends changed, and my parents started to adapt to the change that I was going through by being more easy going and making me learn through my own mistakes instead of sheltering me like they had before.
  • 7.3 Crowds and Cliques

    7.3 Crowds and Cliques
When I moved to the United States from Canada during my middle school years, I made a small group of close friends who was part of my clique. We used to eat lunch together everyday, hang out afterschool and just have a lot of fun. All of us were categorized as the Indian crowd. During high school, all the indians used to hang out underneath our school walkway and within the crowd, there were alot of cliques.
  • 7.4 Friendship

    7.4 Friendship
My friendship with my family friends have been closer than any other friendships I've had. Even though the text described a typical having one close friend, our group of "sisters" had 6 people. We were closer to each other than we were to our families and we were strong as one. We've have always been there for each other, even though we've all gone through our ups and downs. Our sisterhood started around middle school, and now it is as strong as ever.
  • 6.4 Achieved

This changed around high school, when I started to explore other career options. I would volunteer at hospitals, dental clinics, vetenary offices until I was sure about what I wanted to be. After searching and exploring for about a year or two, I cam back to a conclusion that I wanted to be a dentist. However, this time I was much more confident because I had observed various other types of fields and I knew dentistry was right for me.
  • 2.4 APGAR

Nicolai's heart rate was measured using a stethescope. His respiratory effort was measured based on the fact that he was crying and his lungs were also heard using a stethescope. He also had active motion because he would wave his arms and legs every time someone would touch him. This response would also result in a vigorous cry so his reflex responsibility was measured. Lastly he was mostly pink in color. His body temperature, height, circumference and palmar grasp were also measured.
  • 3.3 Imaginary Audience

    3.3 Imaginary Audience
Ever since I was a young child, I would always be paranoid of other people judging me. This habit didn't even start at adolescence but started at a much younger age and it still persists today. I would think that it isn't cool to wear my cultural clothes outside the house. Whenever I would come back from a cultural event, I would stay in the car and make sure everyone around me was gone before I got out of the car because I would always think that people would judge me based on my clothes.
  • 1.3 Methods

    1.3 Methods
One way I will be interacting with a child is when they will be my patients when I will be a dentist. One way to get them to tell me the truth about them brushing is to of course ask their parents if they actually have been brushing everyday. Another way to get more accurate data is to tell the child that even if you haven't been brushing, you will get a piece of candy, so might as well tell me the truth.
