  • Waikoloa Village Fire

    In the Waikoloa area of the Big Island a wildfire threatened 50 homes, burned over 400 acres, and eight houses were evacuated. More Information: FEMA
  • Kawaihae Road Fire

    The Kawaihae road fire on the Island of Hawaii threatened 100 homes, caused mandatory evacuations of local residents, and burned over 1,500 acres. More Information: FEMA
  • Lalamilo Fire

    The Lalamilo fire of Waikoloa burned over 1,600 acres on the Big Island. More Information: FEMA
  • Akoni Pule Highway Fire

    Just three days later a major fire on the Akoni Pule Highway of the Big Island threatened 650 people, 300 homes, and burned over 2,500 acres. More Information: FEMA
  • Nanakuli Brush Fire

    In the Nanakuli and Palehua areas of Oahu a brush fire threatened at least 150 homes and burned more than 1,500 acres of land. Many summer programs and business in this area had to evacuate. More Information: FEMA
  • Waikele Fire

    The Waikele fire near Mililani on Oahu burned over 500 acres of land and threatened homes in this area. More Information: FEMA
  • Ma'alaea Fire

    Ma'alaea Fire
    On Maui a wildfire near the Ma`alaea area burned over 2,000 acres of land and closed the Honoapilani Highway. Buildings, homes, a boat ramp, and a wind farm were threatened by this fire. More Information: FEMA Picture Caption: Fire overtaking the West Maui Mountains.

  • Olowalu Fire

    Olowalu Fire
    This large wildfire damaged telephone service in West Maui, closed the Honoapilani Highway, and threatened homes. Wind gusts didn’t help the matter and over 1,400 acres were burned. More Information: Maui News Picture Caption: Firefighters controlling the flames.

  • Waialua Fire

    Waialua Fire
    For three days the Waialua fire spread miles from strong gusts of wind. In addition to blankets of smoke on the leeward side of Oahu, the fire burned over 5,000 acres of land.     Puako Fire
    Nine brush fires burned over 2,300 acres of land - thought to be the work of arsonists. People in this area evacuated homes because the smoke made it difficult to breath. More information: Honolulu Advertiser Picture Caption: Smoke in the distance.

    Kaunakakai Fire
    This Molokai fire burned over 7,000 acres of land and fortunately no residences were threatened. Three helicopters were dispatched to this area to help with relief efforts. More Information: Maui Now Picture Caption: Over 7,000 acres of land were destroyed.
