Calhoun's theory of nullification dealt with states being able to nullify any sort of act that the national government enstated but that doesnt pertain to the state. -

The recharter bill was Vetoed in the fight against the corruption of the banks at the federal level. -
The Telegraph and Morse Code
Western Union was the first federal telegraph company and still exists. Samuel F.B. Morse created a code lines and dots making communication possible over long distances. -

It was the compramise of what the western land gained from the Mexicans would be slave or not. The Compramise was to allow slavery but the slave trade was not. -
John Brown Raid
John Brown took over an areson with a group of abolitionists to distract the law so that slaves would be able to get away. The idea failed. -

The states that seceeded from the union formed a government called the Confederate States of America led by Jerrferson Davis.
