    476-1450 AD. In this time flowers were grown and then cultivated. Flowers were used to freshen the air. Most of the flower arrangments were held in chinese porcelain and highly decorated with birds, dragons, and lions.

    The Renaissance began in the 14th century in italy and then moved to europe. Brilliant colors of flowers were used and were in arrangments that were large, tall, pyramidal, and symmetrically balanced.

    17th and 18th Century. this is known as the grand era. These had a feminine appeal and were fanshaped and massive. These also emphasized the classic design, refinement and the elegance of the design.
