  • Proclamation Line

    Proclamation Line
    The Proclamation line was issued by King George III. And it meant that the colonists could not settle west of the line which was the Appalachian Mountains. All of this happened after the colonists tried to settle more to the west after the french and indian war b/c the french no longer occupied that area. This made the colonists very angry and they crossed the line anyway. This made the king mad and he decided to keep the army in the area to keep the law enforced.
  • Sugar Act

    Sugar Act
    The sugar act was passed by the Parliament of Britain. And it was a tax on sugar and a tax on goods that contained sugar, which in this case would be molasses and rum. WHich was bad for the colonists because sugar was used in a lot of things and basically taxed everyone. Also it was one of the first taxes after the war so it had a pretty big impact on people throughout the colonies.
  • Stamp Act

    Stamp Act
    The stamp act was basically a tax on just about everything, but it was different. It was a direct tax, and that meant that after you bought something you had to buy a stamp to prove that you didn't steal that certain item. This upset the colonists mainly because it meant that the colonists had to spend even more money on the littlest things like newspapers.
  • Boston Massacre

    Boston Massacre
    The boston massacre was the first time that the british actually fired onto american people. There was a crowd of angery people taunting and throwing ice balls at british soldiers, and from there no one really knows for sure what happened. But from there a british soldier must of thought that the commander said fire, even though the crowd was taunting by yelling "FIRE, FIRE, FIRE" and so he did. ANd this had a pretty big impact on people.

    Tea Act
    The Tea act basically meant what it says. You have to pay more taxes on tea. Now the colonists liked a lot of things and one of those things was their tea. So this act obviously upset them a lot. It had to be one of the worste decisions he made during the time. This was when the Boston tea party happened.
  • Boston Tea Party

    Boston Tea Party
    The Boston Tea Party was when the people of boston didn't like the tea act and decided to agaist it. And on one night a bunch of the colonists dressed up as indians and dumped about 3 million dollars worth of tea into the bay. The colonists liked their tea . . . a lot, and they didn't want to pay some stupid tax on it.
  • Declaration of Independence

    Declaration of Independence
    The declaration was part of the push for independence to get independence from great britain. John adams lead the idea for this. The british were showed signs of warfare like bunker hill, which was basically the last straw whcih started the push for independence in turn changing their goal from having their rights back to being their own independent country.
