    The French and Indian War was between the British and the French. They were fighting over the land in the Ohio River Valley in North America. Americas joined alliances with British. Seven years later the British drove the French out of North America. And the British felt it was necessary to tax the Americans on the war debt. The Americans were furious they had to pay 8 million dollars for the British War.

    Proclamation Line
    The proclamation line was created by King George III. He made the colonists stop moving westward by making a line on the Appalachians mountains. They would have a punishment if they did cross the line. The colonists were mad at this because they just defeated the French and they couldn’t even move on to the land.

    Sugar and Stamp Act
    The Sugar Act was an indirect tax on sugar. An indirect tax is a tax that is included into the item. The colonists didn’t realize they were getting taxed but when King George made a direct tax called the Stamp act, they were furious. The Stamp act was an added on tax on any printed good. The colonists felt violated.

    Most colonists in American drank tea and when they put a tax on tea the colonists were very irate. One night a British soldier and a colonist started a brawl and 5 minutes later shots went off and 5 colonists died and British soldiers were beaten and bloody. No one knows the actual truth to the Boston Massacre

    The Townshend act put a tax on Tea, glass, and paper. The Townshend act had a huge impact on the colonists because back in 1767 everyone drank tea. This made the colonists irate. The colonists were so mad that they dressed up as Indians and raided a ship that was importing tea. They poured $3 million worth of tea into the Boston Harbor. They poured so much tea into the Boston Harbor that the water turned the color of tea. This made the British officials very mad.

    The Massachusetts Govt. act states the British has complete control over the town meeting. And the Quebec act extends the Canadian border. The colonists were furious at the British.
  • Intororable Acts

    Intororable Acts
    The Intorable acts were a series of acts that were considered punishment for the Boston Tea Party. The acts were the quartering act, Boston Port Act, Administration of Justice Act, Massachusetts Govt. Act, and the Quebec Act. The Quartering act allowed any British official to live in a colonist’s house. The Boston port act closed the port of Boston until the damages of the Boston Tea Party were fixed. The Administration of Justice act means that the British officials will be tried overseas.
  • Lexington and Concord

    Lexington and Concord
    British are having a hard time making the colonists pay their taxes so King George III sent 20,000 troops to America. Their order was to seize the leader of the rebels and execute them. That did not work so well because the Americans had a system where they had lookout guards. The British troops When the Troops got to Lexington they were met by 150 militia. After they battled 250 British soldiers died and only 90 Americans died so the Colonists considered this a win. This was the biggest event t
