  • Boston Massacre

    A small disagreement attracted attention and turned into a mob. The mob teased a group of soldiers that they should try and shoot, and one did, then a few more, and five Boston citizens were killed. Therefore, anger against the British grew.
  • Battle of Lexington and Concord

    Battle of Lexington and Concord
    The British found out that the Americans had an illegal stash of weapons in Concord, so the British sent secret a military to go get them. One of Boston's men saw the military leaving, and then told Paul Revere and William Dawes. Rever and Dawes warned everyone that the British were coming, and then the British were faced with 70 men in their path. The British then found out that everyone knew they were coming, and they had to "surrender" and walk away. Rebels shot at British while walking.
  • Battle of Bunker Hill.

    Battle of Bunker Hill.
    The Battle of Bunker Hill was taken place in the Charlestown Peninsula, on Bunker Hill. It was the Americans vs. the British. The British won.
  • Battle of New York

    Washington retreated several times because the British were overtaking them. The British (William Howe was the leader.) ended up winning this battle.
  • Declaration of Independence Signing

    The Declaration of Independence Signing was simply the signing of our declaration, which officially stated that America was it's own nation, and we would no longer be controlled by the British government. That's why "The Fourth of July" is celebrated every year, it's called Independence Day. Our country still follows the Declaration of Independence today.

    The Battle of Trenton was early in the morning on Christmas Day. The colonists snuck up with a suprise attack on the British when they were sleeping, some of them hungover from celebrating. It was an easy win for the Americans.
  • Battle of Saratoga

    Battle of Saratoga
    Saratoga showed the French military that the rebels could, indeed, hold their own. That convinced the French to make an allegiance with America. Which meant that the Battle of Saratoga was the turning point in the Revolutionary War.
  • Valley Forge

    Valley Forge
    Over 2,000 men died because of the harsh conditions, and some just gave up and left. The ones that were left, were turned into a legit army by the spring time by Friedrich von Stueben.
  • Battle of Yorktown

    Battle of Yorktown
    Three militia walk in different directions to surround the British army. Cornwallis tries to escape from the sea, but the French are blocking him. Cornwallis realizes that he can't escape, and makes his aid surrender for him. It ended the war.
  • Treaty of Paris

    Treaty of Paris
    The Treaty of Paris of 1783 set boundaries for the Americans, (from Canada to Florida, and the Atlantic coast to the Mississippi River.) The treaty also declared America an independent nation! It officaially ended the war.
