  • Fredonian Rebellion

    The first attempt by Anglo settlers in Texas to secede from Mexico. Led by Haden Edwards, declared independence from Mexico and Texas and created the Republic of Fredonia near Nacogdoches. Austin ended it.

  • Guerrero Decree

    The Guerrero Decree abolished slavery throughout the republic of Mexico. This was issued by President Vincente R. Guerrero on September 15,1829.
  • Law Of April 6,1830

    The law of april6,1830 said to be the same type of law to the Texas Revolution that the stamps act was to the American revolution.The law of April 6',1830 was mainly about immigrants not able to move to another place and that you can't get no new slaves.
  • Bradburn arrests three Texans

    Bradburn arrested lock lawyer William Barret Travis. Settlers were outraged that Travis did not receive some of the protections offered by the United states bills of rights even though these rights were not guaranteed in Mexico.
  • The Turtle Bayou Resolution

    After the Texans came back from Anahuac and some of the Texans were arrested, they went to the Turtle Bayou and rested. They wrote a document, and it stated that they adopted the Turtle Bayou, they weren't rebelling against Mexico but supported Santa Anna.
  • Battle of Velasco

    The Battle of Velasco was the first real battle between Mexico and the the Texas Settlers. This battle took place near by the Anahuac. Texas won because the Mexican troops were almost out of ammunition and they surrendered.
  • Convention of 1832

    On October 1,1832, Texans convene in San Felipe de Austin for the Convention of 1832; they organize and adopt a sense of resolution, it separated statehood from Coahuila. The Mexican government claims the meeting is unauthorized and illegal and does not recognize the resolutions.
  • Santa Anna is elected President

    Santa Anna is elected President and takes his seat on May 16,1833.
  • Stephen F. Austin arrested

    Stephen F.Austin went to Mexico City to present the resolution,but was ignored by Santa Anna representative.He then wrot a letter to the Texans suggesting that they form a state government separate from Coahuila. The Mexican government felt an act of treason and arrested Stephen F.Austin. He was kept in Mexico city for 1 year.
