Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor
On December 7th. 1941, the Japanese had seen how strong the United States was becoming and wanted to put a stop to it, so they bombed Pearl Harbor with three major attacks, about an hour apart from one another starting at 7:53 a.m. And with all the American casulities lost and only a couple Japanese planes destroyed, the Japanese succeeded on their surprise attack on the US. -

They had defeated the Japan which seeing their first chance at destroying them first in the air and then surprising them again with the rest of the armed forces which helped them to defeat Japan. -

The Battle of Stalingrad was what most people call the turning point of WWII for Europe. After the Russians had bled the German army dry of soliders and such, they had been in full retreat mode. Since Hitler and Stalin had been arch rivals and wanting to defeat one another so with Hitler not thinking of all the problems to face Hitler, he kept sending men. Hitler had called a national mourning and he had blamed it all on General Paulus who was a main leader at the time of one of the six armies. -

D Day
More than 160,000 Allied troops had gotten together to fight the Nazi troops on the coast line of Normandy. More than 5,000 ships and 13,000 aircrafts had come to help during the war and at the end of the day, the Allies hadn't gotten really anywhere but rather they had lost many casulties around 9,000 soldiers killed or wounded. -
Allies liberate Paris
While the Allies were trying to come to the capital, Paris, the Germans had been evacuating and the city of Paris went immediately into strike mode. They had all kinds of people on strike and had caused alot of chaos and trouble for the Germans, whom were trying to evacuate. Meanwhile, the Allies had kept advancing. Since the German government was in control of the police force and other main forces, the people had taken the commander policemen & ordered surrender, after 4 years, Paris was free. -

Battle of Imo Jima
After fighting hard that day, the Americans had finally won ther battle at Mt. Suribachi of the battle of Imo Jima. American flag at the summit of Mt. Suribachi during the battle for Iwo Jima was a symbol for the American forces as bravery and heroism. People to this day use that picture and event to show how brave people can be and hard work pays off in the end. -
FDR dies; Truman Becomes President
Franklin D Roosevelt was in Warm Springs, Georgia getting his portrait painted and sources said he started to feel at large pain the back of his head. The next moment, he has collasped on the floor and he had died from a cerebral hemorrhage. Now since Herriot Truman was the Vice President at the time, he was stepped up to become the president in FDR's place. -
Hitler commits suicide
As Hitler was being turned against by the people, he was being surrounded and didn't want to do in humiliation, torture and imprisionment like Mussiluni did when they had hung his body and torchured his corpse. So he and his wife had decided to go and hide and have someone shoot them so it was a quick death and so their corpses would be buried and not desecreted. -
VE Day is declared
The Germans had finally surrendered the war and France was overjoyed and there were parties in the streets, bands playing everywhere and fireworks being set off to celebrate no more blood being shead. -

On a peaceful beautiful day the Japanese were exspecting a regular day, but this day was not anywhere normal, soon there was an atomic bomb dropped which ended WWII and left the city in ruins. -

During the atomic bombing of Hiroshima Truman had made the bombs had made two bombs just in case the first one wasn't going to cover the entire city, but when he saw the damage, they needed to do something with the last one, so he didn't want to drop it in our home country, so he dropped it on Nagasaki. -
VJ Day is delclared
On this day, President Truman had made a day to celebrate when the US had gotten the surrendering papers from Japan. -
