    Winnipeg General Strike was caused by the cost of living rising after WWI and the workers want the wage be more. At the end, there were about 30,000 people went on strike, the 10 leaders were arrested and 15 men had died.

    Prohibition in Canada started in the 1920s, it was for preventing people selling and buying alcohol. The drinking of Alcohol was widespread in the early 19th century, so there were many public pressure and they tried to buy alcohol illegally. Prince Edward Island was the longest place that last the Prohibition. Finally, the prohibition was cancelled for all provinces in 1948.

The working and living condition was horrible. So there were hundreds of men that went on the train and head to the east for better living condition.
