Road to revolution

  • French & Indian War

    French & Indian War
The French and indian war was a war that forced the french out of the Americas. The french allied themselfs with multiple indian tribes but the British allied themselfs with the two strongest ones. The war was a stalemate until the British parliment payed millions of dollars into the war to help. After the war Britan won but they saw the war as Americas fault so they made them pay for it by raising the taxes. Also the proclimation line was set up after this.
  • Proclamation Line

    Proclamation Line
The proclamation line was put in place after the french and indian war. The British made it so that no one could colonize west of the Appalachans so that no other conflicts would be started with the indians. This infuriated the Colonists because they wanted to colonize the west so that they could make more money, that is the whole point of mercintilism.
  • Stamp Act

    Stamp Act
The stamp act was that all printed goods in America were to have a tax which today wouldnt be that bad but back then reading was there form of entertainment. This made the Colonists so mad that it was eventully taken down during the declority act.
  • Declatory Act

The Declatory act made the stamp act obsolete, the stamp act no longer existed. It also made it clear that British parliment had as much authority in America as it did in Britan and in all of its colonies and that all of the laws passed in the colonies had no meaning unless approved upon by the king. This made the colonists really really mad.
  • Boston Massacre

    Boston Massacre
The event that made was over exaggerated to the point of being down right wrong and was made into propaganda for the colonies. The soldiers were harrased, physically and verbaly abused until one soldier was knocked down and his gun discharged which then prompted the other soldiers to fire.
  • Tea act

    Tea act
The tea act made it so that the Colonies could only buy tea from the east india trading because the east india company is very poor and in order for them to make money the Gov made it so. This was just another thing that the Colonies made into their propaganda machine.
  • Boston Tea Party

    Boston Tea Party
The Boston Teaparty was in response to the higher cost of tea so the Colonists dressed up as Mohak indians to hide their identity. The Colonists dumped an entire ship load of tea into Boston harbor, the damage was up to $1,000,000. This showed that the colonies were unruley and forced the king to place more troops into the colonies.
