    San Fermin (Pamplona Bull Running)

    How: The festival is celebrated with dancing, music, and bullfights.

    Moros y Cristianos (Moors and Christians)

    When:This holiday starts on April 21 and ends on April 24.
    Why:To celebrate the day when St. George helped defeat the Moorish forces.
    How:The people do a fake battle of how they won against the Moors.
    What:The two armies, march around with their own bands. The armies have mock battles, but eventually St. George's army wins.
    Where:The mock battles and everything else is held in Alcoy.
    Who:The Spanish people are celebrating for St. George.

    How:The people in Bunol have a giant tomato fight.
    Where:La Tomatina is held in Bunol near Valencia.
    When:The tomato fight starts at 11am and ends at 1pm on the last Wednesday of August.
    Why:In 1945, some people accidentally knocked over a giant-headed figure. The figure started swinging around, so the people threw tomatoes at it.
    Who:People from around the world come to Bunol to participate in the tomato fight.
    What:The people in Bunol have a tomato fight in the streets, and a party.
  • Castellers de Vilafranca

    Where:It is celebrated in Catalonia.
    What:People try to make the tallest human tower.
    How:People make human towers.
    When:The festival is held during the summer.
    Why:The festival was created because there was an increase of interest of human towers.
    Who:Many Catalan towns have human tower building teams that participate in the contest of who can build the tallest tower.
  • Feria de Abril (Serville April Fair)

    When:The holiday starts at midnight, two weeks after Holy Week, and ends at midnight, the following Sunday.
    How:Feria de Abril is celebrated with a fair.
    What:Each day starts with a parade of carriages. There are many parties in the casetas, tents built for the fair.
    Why:In 1847, two counsellors held a livestock fair, but after a year, an air of festivity transformed the fair.
