    Abby was named to the United States Women's National Team in the year 2001, and remained a key player for the team for over 14 years following.     In 2012, Abby received a huge award and was publicly recognized for all of her dedication and commitment to USWNT. After being on the team for 11 years, Abby Wambach was named FIFA Women's Player of the Year. In this same year, she broke Mia Hamm's scoring record in international play with her 159th goal.
