We had a school event for our grade where everybody played all day on Friday and the teachers split us up evenly by boys and girls. There was 1 more boy than girl so I decided to join the girls, gain some experience interacting with girls. It was suppose to be a real fun day where we played all day but for the girls it was just a day full of drama. They fought constantly and a girl lied to the teacher about something I didn't do so I had to sit the day out and watch the boys have fun. I hated it

    Entering Adolescence
I believe high school is where I took my first steps in becoming independent as an adult. I spent most of my time at school or out of the house period. I would go to class, go to practice, and then spend the rest of the day either hanging out with friends or playing basketball. I remember leaving home early Friday morning and not getting back until like 1 in the morning. I started working during this period, I didn't start driving but all my friends did and we went everywhere.

I took track in high school and it had a lot of girls on the team. Most girls didn't play sports so it was interesting to me that they did track. I mean it's common to find on a track team but this was the first time I was on a team with one. In my experience sports has always been a boy's activity.

    Emerging Adulthood
Adulthood I would describe as being more around my senior year of high school. I started smoking, drinking and just being out even more so then before. It wasn't just during the week, it was the weekends too. Going to the beach, different cities, meeting new people. I was also getting into it less with my mom, I would just leave any time it got too tense at home
