    It was the Nationalists vs. the Communists. The communist China was supported by Russia and Stalin. Japan eventually though took over the major cities in China, but after several years it only ended in a stalemate between the two countries. So, Japan decided to turn it's attention to America and Pearl Harbor, thus inviting the US into WWII in the Asian territory.

    The Japanese take over China's capital, Nanking, then they destroyed it. Burning most of it, they killed 150,000 war prisoners, 50,000 additional civilians, and raped 20,000 women and girls if not more, most were killed and mutilated in the process. It was an extremely sad time and happening for China and Japan

    German Blitzkrieg
    blitzkrieg meaning "lighting war". It is a military term that when executed confuses enemies all while the allying forces fire in with concentrated weapons. It was designed by Hitler and first used as "practice" in Poland. It was later used to evacuate and execute the European Jews the were captured by the Nazis.

    Germany invaded Poland all along it's border and in through the Baltic Sea as well. His goal was to gain power and control over the country. He claimed it was in his defense and with good reason, but France and Britain thought otherwise. A few days later both countries declared war on Germany, starting WWII.

    The Germans invaded France and took over the lower countries. It was only 9 months into the war and Hitler was in charge and using is new artillery.

    The Japanese came with 200 fighter planes, but managed to attack 20 American ships and 300 Air crafts. Hours after the attack FDR declared war on Japan, and merely 3 days later Hitler declared war on us. This attack from Japan started our war with them and our involvement in WWII.

  • Bataan Death March

    Bataan Death March
    After the U.S. surrendered, the Japanese took the American and Filipino men and marched them on a 65 mile journey from Mariveles to San Fernando where they would be taken on a rail to a work camp. Years later in 1944 the Americans came back to avenge their lost ones. They took back the Bataan Island and freed the camp, Manila. Many Americans died from brutality and starvation over the duration of this march and containment.

    Battle of Midway

    The fight between Japan and America one of the biggest naval wars to this day. We wouldn't have won it if it weren't for our great decoding system. This was only 6 months after pearl harbor and was a decisive war.

    Nazi Germany came together with allied forces to take control of Stalingrad in Russia, where they fought against the Soviet Union. But in a turn of the war, Germany was bled dry in Russia and had to flee away and retreat. This was the turning point in the war, and led to Germany's defeat.

    Warsaw Ghetto Uprising

    German forces marched into the Warsaw Ghetto to liquidate it and take anyone found to a concentration camp. But when the Germans arrived, they were ambushed by Jewish fighters armed with mostly homemade weapons. The German forces retreated and to this day it's considered the biggest and most successful Jewish uprising against the Germans.

    D-Day
    The US and it's allied forces dug a 50 foot trench and used 5,000 ships and 13,000 air crafts and more than 100,000 American and allied troops were killed. They were on a mission to attack European forces and finally get to Adolf Hitler and his Nazi camps. It was the start of American fighting in European grounds in WWII.

    The Soviet Union entered the camp and liberated 7,000 prisoners who were in extremely rough conditions and very sick. A few days before that, the SS tried to evacuate as many prisoners as possible, they marched them and on the way many were murdered.

    A "revenge" attempt on the Japanese for their bombing on Pearl Harbor. It took place on a small island in the pacific ocean where the Japanese would keep their war ships and planes to refuel. This is where the B-29 bomber plane was kept. The Americans came in and destroyed their base full of elaborate tunnels and passage ways. It was an American victory over the Japanese

    Standing for Victory in Europe Day, it marks the day the Nazi Germans surrendered after their leader Adolf Hitler committed suicide on April 30, 1945. It was the end of WWII and a huge relief for all of America and it's allied forces.

    The Atomic Bombs

    The first bomb was dropped over Hiroshima by the US aircraft B-29 "Enola Gay". 140,000 people were killed. The second bomb was dropped over Nagasaki, also by the B-29, killing 80,000 more people. These were dropped near the end of the war and intended to end the war with Japan but instead causes hundreds of thousands of casualties and a memory we can't forget.
