    In 800 Ghana had control over most of West Africa's trade routes. Since a lot of the trade routes passed through Ghana the army kept it safe and as the trade increased, Ghana's wealth did too.

    In early 1200s the empire of Ghana had collapsed. There were a few different reasons for the falling of Ghana. The first reason is because that they were invaded by North African Muslims and after 14 years of fighting they defeated Ghana. The second reason also involved the group of North Africa Muslims. They brought animals with them and they ate all of their grass. The soil was therefor useless.
