    Japan Invades Manchuria
    The Japanese government held a great amount of economic investments in the coal and iron rich lands of Northestern China, Manchuria. Though the Japanese parliment spoke out against the Japanese military invaded China anyway and began to establish coal mines and factories upon its occupation.
  • Italy Attacks Ethiopia

    Italy Attacks Ethiopia
    When the Legue of Nation's failed to stop the Japanese invasion of Manchuria, Italian dictator, Benito Mussolini, saw an opportunity to begin his imperialistic conquest of Africa. Mussolini aimed at capturing Ethiopia, and was successful as Italian military technology was far superior. Again the Leqgue showed its uselessness as Ethiopia appealed to it for help but recieved no assistance.
  • Germany Occupies Rhineland

    Germany Occupies Rhineland
    Under the Treaty of Versailles Germany experienced many restrictions militarily. When Hitler came to power he aimed to destroy these by expanding the size of the German army and invading the 30 mile-wide zone surrounding the Rhine River, or Rhineland. Hitler did this with little to no opposition and by doign so he gained a great amoun of clout among the German army and other fascist states.

    Japan Invades China
    After fire had been exchanged at a railroad bridge near Beijing, the Japanese made a full on invasion into northern China, capturing many cities, including Beijin and the cpaital city of Nanjing. The Chinese military forces could not mach the strength of the Japaenese army which had superior weaponry and training.

    Germany Anexxes Austria
    When Germany decided to annex Austria, it did so with little to no opposition. Many Austrians supported the unification of Germany and Austria at the time and Britain and Franc completely ignored their promise to protect Austrian independence.
  • Germany Takes Sudetenland

    Germany Takes Sudetenland
    Sudetenland was an area of Czechoslovakia which was home to about 3 million German speaking individuals. The land was hevily fortified by the Czech people as a defense against Germany. Unfortunately when Hitler demanded the acqusition of Sudetenland he was again left unapposed by Britain and France and did as he pleased.
  • Germany Siezes Czechoslovakia

    Germany Siezes Czechoslovakia
    While Hitler had promised at the Munich Conference that Germany would respect the newly established borders of czechoslovakia following its acquisition of Sudetneland, the promis was rather short lived. In less than six months following the Munich Conference Hitler took Czechoslovakia as if the conference and its negotiations never occured.
  • Italy Conquers Albania

    Italy Conquers Albania
    Again Itlay played followed the leader, shortly after Germany took Czechoslovakia, Italy conquered Albania. The conquest was short, it was not long until King Zog I of Albania was forced into exile and the people of Albania were made subjects of the Italian Empire.
