    World War 1 begins. It started out with only two countries. Those countries were Germany and Belgium; Germany invaded Belgium.

    Submarines were typically small. The Germans used submarines a lot in wars. The US had a similar idea and came out with the U-Boat.

    It was recently used in other wars and battles. But it helped with trench wars the most. It was basically a coil of sharp wire. It helped and protected the enemy from coming from above.

    It was mounted on a wheeled platform. The large horns amplified sounds. This could pinpoint and find enemy aircraft.

    Gas masks were very basic. There was only a certain amount of time the mask could keep out gas. But it was reliable at times.

    The British gave President Wilsonn the telegram and a message. The message said that Mexico would side with Germany. If Germany won, Mexico would get a portion of Texas.

    Gustav had recieved his diary. They were awaiting a shipment that day. That shipment contained brand new aviation technology.

    The United States decided to enter the war. The Germans had already sunk the Lusitania. This was a deciding factor in the decision to join the war.

    According to his diary, he didn't have a terrible Christmas. He recieved many presents while in battle. He recieved many items that he needed like shirts, shorts, socks, etc.

    It was a good and bad New Years Day. It was cloudy and very windy. Planes were actually flipped over and damaged due to the strong winds.

    Radio stations were very complicated. You had to set them up manually. To power them, you would have to pedal on a stationary bicycle.

    On April 12th, 1918, Kissel went on his very first mission. Kissel did in fact, encounter very many enemy planes. Unfortunatly, his plane was shot down.

    This was a very good day. They decided to end all of the fighting that was going on. Which some what mean't less involvement and more peace.
