  • Boston Massacre

    Boston Massacre
    British soilders, red coats, were ordered into Boston. Colonists would insult them calling them names, and throwing things at them. Private White, a British soilder, left his post and struck one of the colonists in the side of the head with his musket. In 1770 violence finally exploded. A man named Bartholomew Broaders began to argue with Private White saying what he did was wrong and uneccesary. Crispus Attucks, a free slave, and 4 other people were killed in the outbreak.
  • Louisiana Purchase

    Louisiana Purchase
    France owned and ruled the Louisiana territory which in now roughly the are of Arkansas, Missouri, Iowa, Oklahoma, Kansas, and NebraskaNapolean tried to take over the New Orleans port. He was suprised at America's determination to keep the port. Napolean made an amazing deal to sell land. A thrilled Jefferson said nothing in the constitution said a president can't buy land. He happily agreed to buy it for 15 million dollars Roughly 3 cents an acre.

    War of 1812
    This was lasted roughly 2 years.The peopel who fought in this war were the United States of America against the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, its North American colonies, and its American Indian allies. America was angry at Britian for interfering with nation affairs. Britian was already at a war with France so they didnt want to go to another war. They went to war anyways. The Treaty of Ghent ended the war in 1814
  • Trail of Tears

    Trail of Tears
    White people invaded the land of the Native Americans. they had to move west, to what is now Oklahoma. It;s called the Trail of tears because many died on the journey and they ouldnt stop to bury them. In the Cherokee language, the event is called Nu na da ul tsun yi meaning the Place Where They Cried.
  • Dred Scott

    Dred Scott
    Dred Scott's owner took him t a free state. Scott had to go back to the slave state. He decided he didn't want to be owned anymore. He sued. Chief Justice Roger B. Taney, John McLean James M. Wayne John Catron Peter V. Daniel Samuel Nelson Robert C. Grier Benjamin R. Curtis John A. Campbell the Court denied Scott's request, said he couldn't be free, he was a slave which is property and that he wasn't a citizen.
  • Lincoln's Election

    Lincoln's Election
    Lincoln went into the white house with no support from the south.The south didn't like a Lincoln because they thought he was going to take their slaves away, when really he just wnted to stop the spread of slavery. The southerners wouldn't listen to him. 7 Southern states had seceded and later formed the Confederacy. Later in 1814 a total of 11 states had joined the Confederacy.
  • Gettysburg Address

    Gettysburg Address
    It was a speech by Abraham Lincoln. One of the best known speeches of all time. He spoke during the American Civil War. The speech was a total of 2 minutes. Lincoln also redefined the Civil War as a struggle not just for the Union, but also for the principle of human equality.
  • Lincoln's Assassination

    Lincoln's Assassination
    He was at Fort's theatre with his wife in Washington D.C. when he was shot by John Wilkes Booth. The play was Our American Cousin. This happened 5 days after General. Robert E. Lee surrendered. Booth's co-conspirators were Lewis Powell and David Herold, who were assigned to kill Secretary of State William H. Seward, and George Atzerodt who was tasked to kill Vice President Andrew Johnson.
