    A conflict between Britain and France that exploded into a global conflict.

    The Proclamation of 1763
    A document stating that the colonists cannot settle past the Appalachian mountains.
    Formed After the British won the 7 years war.
  • Sugar Act

    Sugar Act
    And act to curb the molasses smuggling.
    Lowered the tax on sugar and molasses.
  • The stamp act

    The stamp act
    A tax on paper.
    It stated That every paper document must have the kings seal.
    One of the first taxes.
  • Boston Massacre

    Boston Massacre
    A large group a Boston colonists who where fed up with the British soldiers in Boston started throwing snowballs rocks and oyster shells at the guard in front of the old state house. when he called for help several other guards ran out and formed a firing line. It was then that the guards heard an order to fire and shot into the crowd killing 5 and wounding 3.
  • Boston tea party

    Boston tea party
    Upset with the tea tack the sons of liberty took things into there own hands. They took to British merchant ships dressed as native Americans and ransacked them. They took crates and boxes of tea and tossed them into the sea. The damage totaled ~$1,000,000 in today's money.

    A set of laws deemed Intolerable by the colonists.
    Put in place after the Boston tea party.
    The most detrimental effect was the closing o Boston harbor.

    The British close the Boston harbor by setting up a naval blockade.
    The only goods allowed in include Food and firewood.
  • Continental Congress founded

    The Continental Congress was a group of lawmakers and statesman who gathered togeather to discuss the issues they where facing. Soon after founding the ideals moved more towards independance.
  • The Declaration of Independence

    The Declaration of Independence
    A document stating that america is its own nation.
    Mostly consists of a list of complaints to the king.
