    As the kings tropops neared the town (concord) there were 70 minute men lined up. Shots were fired and eight minute men were kelled and ten wounded, but only one British solider was injured. The battle of Lexington, the first battle of the Revolutionary War, lasted 15 minutes.
  • Concord

    The British marched on to Concord only to find an empty arsenal and started to march back. 3,000 and 4,000 minute men had assembled by now and the British march quickly became a slaughter. The minute men fired, Britsh fell by the dozens. The remaining made it back to Boston. Colonist had become enemies of the Britsh soldiers and held Boston and Britsh troops under siege.

    Gage sent 2,400 Britsh soldiers up the hill. Shots were fired and by the time the smoke cleared colonists had lost 450 men, while British had suffered over 1,000 casualties. The Battle of Bunker Hill would prove to be the deadliest battle of the war.

    17,000 French and American troops surrounded the British on the Yorktown peninsula and began bombarding them day and night. Less than a month later on October 19, 1781 Conwallis finally surrendered. The Americans shocked the world and defeated the British.
