  • End Of French and Indian War

    The Treaty of Paris Ended the French and Indian War
  • Sugar Act

    A law passed by the British Parliament to stop the smuggling of sugar and molasses. It also lowered the tax on molasses
  • Stamp Act

    This act required colonists to pay a tax on every piece of printed paper.
  • Townshed Acts

    Parliament passed to tax Imported Goods. Protests soon began right after.
  • Boston Massacre

    Not really a Massacre. Colonist angered the soldiers and made them shoot. 5 people shot, out of them 3 were killed.
  • Boston Tea Party

    A political protest by The Sons of Liberty. American colonists were angry, so they decided to dump 342 crates of tea in the Boston Harbor
  • Intolerable Acts

    The British parliament enacted the Coercive acts were a series of punishments for the colonist. The Quebec Acts allowed Canada to expand their land to the Ohio River. This angered the colonists because it was their land claim.

    It was a meeting between the Americans to form an army to fight against the British.

    The Battle of Bunker hill was the next Battle between the two armies. It was a bloody battle with 1,000 people dead or wounded. Eventually the Americas ran out of gunpowder ending in a British win.

  • Howe captures Philadelphia

    British forces tried to take back the control of the American colonies but they had to face organised American armies as well as American militias. In 1777, British General William Howe decided to attack Philadelphia in order to capture the city and bring it under British control once and for all.
