The British called it the ¨Incident on King's street¨. This shows that both sides had different views on what actually happened on the morning of March 5. 9 soldiers were put on trial for the massacre. The Boston Massacre has been known ever since.

    The Declaration of Independence was an important event because it declared independence for the colonies. It showed the colonists and Britain that they were ready to fight for their freedom. The colonists were faced with a choice- join the revolution, or stay loyal to the British. The declaration also stated valid reasons for Declaring Independence. Without the Declaration, many people may have not joined the patriots and Washington.

When the Americans won, it was a big victory. The Bonhomme Richard sank after the battle, but John Paul Jones, the sailor, took the Serapis back to the colonies.     The battle of Camden was an important battle in the revolutionary war. When they sent general Horatio Gates out to meet the British in the south, he was easily defeated. He fled and was demoted from his role as the general of the southern army. Gates came into the battle with less troops than he had before, so he was already short of men. The Americans won the revolutionary war because of their will to fight, and learning from their mistakes when the British didn't. The overconfident British generals made bad decisions that cost them the war. They had to fight for their country, while the Americans were fighting for independence.
