The Boston massacre is an important event in the American revolution because it sparked a sense of hatred towards the British. Without this incident, the fight for freedom may have not started. The British called it the ¨Incident on King's street¨. This shows that both sides had different views on what actually happened on the morning of March 5. 9 soldiers were put on trial for the massacre. The Boston Massacre has been known ever since.

The Declaration of Independence was an important event because it declared independence for the colonies. It showed the colonists and Britain that they were ready to fight for their freedom. The colonists were faced with a choice- join the revolution, or stay loyal to the British. The declaration also stated valid reasons for Declaring Independence. When other European countries such as France and Spain heard this, they saw it as an opportunity. France wanted to get back at Britain for the French and Indian war, and Spain wanted to get more land. The battle of Camden was an important battle in the revolutionary war. When they sent general Horatio Gates out to meet the British in the south, he was easily defeated. He fled and was demoted from his role as the general of the southern army. Gates came into the battle with less troops than he had before, so he was already short of men. The Siege of Yorktown was an important battle because it ended the revolutionary war. The British were forced to surrender. The Americans won the revolutionary war because of their will to fight, and learning from their mistakes when the British didn't. The overconfident British generals made bad decisions that cost them the war. They had to fight for their country, while the Americans were fighting for independence.
