    In this siege, the British surrounded the city of Charlestown for six weeks. This event is important because the Americans surrendered all of their forces in the city resulting in one of the worst American losses.
  • Battle of Yorktown

    Battle of Yorktown
    In the Battle of Yorktown General Washington led a force of men and started a seize now called the Battle of Yorktown. In this battle, Lafayette trapped British soldiers retreating from Yorktown, while the French navy surrounded the peninsula. At the same time, Washington led his troops, surrounded the city and bombarded it with cannon shells. This battle was important because it was the last battle in the Revolutionary War.
