In the Boston Massacre, colonists attacked the British soldiers that were stationed in the city, and fighting broke out with one colonist calling out "fire". After this, at court, they made it seem like the British were guilty. This was an important event because it brought a lot of people onto the patriot side, with Samuel Adams. Also showed that the colonists were so against the British that they would lie to the court to get the soldiers punished.
  • The Intolerable Acts

The Intolerable Acts were passed so that the colonists would pay for the tea they wasted. (which was a big debt for the Government to pay for.) Also, the port of Boston was shut down for all import and export, other than from approved locations. (Englandea) This was an important act because it taught the colonists that the government was still able to rule them and they were the big cheese.

John Paul (Jones) and his victory
John Paul Jones lead a boat called the "Bonhomme Richard", and battled against a British ship, "Serapis". He won the fight, sunk his boat and sailed away in the Serapis. This was an important event because John got fame from France. I think it would have given people hope to defeat the British since HE went up against a better boat.

  • Gen. Gates, and his tremendous mistake

General Gates made some critical errors in the war for Camden and lost the battle against the British. He put his lowest class me against the pros, finally had to forfeit and run. This was important because it boosted the British side up, and General Gates was brought down from his position. It also had lowered the number of american soldiers by a lot, since they had gotten killed.
