  • Battle of Lexington/Concord

    The British find out about a stronghold in Concord so on the night this British marched to concord. Paul Revere and William Dawes ride to concord shouting "THE BRITISH ARE COMMING". When the British made it to Lexington, a militia of 40 men were waiting for them. Eight men did not get up. The British kept on marching to Concord. At the North Bridge, Minutemen shot at them and killed them. On the way back, men shot at them from behind trees and walls. A the end it was a colonial victory. 73 dead.
  • Battle of fort Ticonderoga

    The capture of Fort Ticonderoga occurred during the American Revolution on May 10, 1775. When a small force of Green Mountain boys led by Ethan Allen and Colonial Benedict Arnold overcame a small British garrison at the fort and looted the personal belongings of the garrison
  • Battle of Bunker Hill

    Prescott set up post on Bunker and Breed's hill. The next day the British charged Bunker hill hoping to take the hill. Since the Colonists were low on ammo, Prescott ordered "Don't fire 'till you see the whites of their eyes. When the British charged a third time, the Americans ran out of ammo. With one thousand dead/wounded the British realized that defeating the American wouldn't be quick nor easy.
  • Battle of Long Island

    The continental army was at a low point. Only 20,000 in Washington's army but the still fought. Patriots suffered a heavy loss. One British commander noted that most Patriots killed had no socks, shoes or jackets. The commander predicted that the rebels would suffer in he winter.
  • The Battle of Trenton

    Washington's forces saw an opportunity to surprise the British That nigh Washington sailed the Delaware river to surprise the enemy at Trenton. The next day his army marched to Princeton and scattered the army there.
  • Battle of Saratoga

    The British tried to make a three-way attack on Albany. General Burgoyne's army stopped to attack Ticonderoga which failed so he retreated to Saratoga. Burgoyne was in a small number and in trouble. He made a desperate attack but the Patriots held strong. October 17, he surrendered.
  • Battle of Monmouth

    The Battle of Monmouth was on a hot day. Most men fainted from thirst. Colonials and British help hills on either side of the battle. At the end of the day, no side was victorious so the battle is considered a draw.
  • Battle of Yorktown

    After British success at Charles Town Cornwallis was in charge at the South. The French navy decided to help and block out the British ports. Green took half the army to also attack from new angle. At the end Cornwallis retreated. This was the final battle in the south.
  • Battle of Cowpen

    Continental Army forces under Brigadier General Daniel Morgan in South Carolina against the British Army led by Colonel Banastre Tarleton, during the Southern campaign of the American Revolutionary War. It was a turning point in the patriots' reconquest of South Carolina from British control. It took place in northwestern Cherokee County, South Carolina, north of the town of Cowpens.
