The Suzuki family dry-cleaning business was sold by the government in the beginning of World War Two and Suzuki, his mother, and his two sisters at the time were put into a camp in Slocan and his father into a camp in Solsqua. At the end of the war the Suzukis moved to Islington, Leamington, and London Ontario. -

David Suzuki was married from 1958 - 1965 to Setsuko Joane Sunahara, they had three children. He was married a second time in 1973 to Tara Elizabeth Cullis, they had two children. -

Suzuki is a Canadian academic, science broadcaster and environmental activist. He got a B.A in Biology from 1958 from Amherst College in Massachusetts then a Phd in Zoology from the University of Chicago in 1961. He was then a professor in University of British Columbia genetics department from 1963 to 2001. -
