    left culturas and declines surrounding trading ports in east africa

    left the world with a great stone sculpture and a major tourisim hearth

    it was a plague that took over europe and other places. it killed 1/3 of europes population and it created labor shortages in europe

    ibn buttuta mostly traveld throughout india and the muslim world. 75,000 mile in all. he wrote about his journeys

    marco polo, his father, and his uncle travled from Vinice to China and stayed there for 17 years. he went to explor and find goods to bring back home

    china was the most difficult conquest fr the mongols. they wanted to extract wealth from china but eneded up adopting their culture

    it left Ghana very wealthy and even though the kingdom died it still was a large important trading port

    Afghan Turks invaded India and started to govern. The Delhi Sultanate was ruled by Turkic and Afghan dynasties who introduced a strong Muslim presence in India.

    it was founded by the abbasid family. the capital was Bagdad. the empire extended from north africa to the middle east.

    Middle East- umayyad caliphate begins

    it was founded by Damascus. the capital was medina. it was mostly made up of muslims in north africa and the middle east. it fell in 750.

    Middle East- shia & sunni

    After the murder of Muhammads son-in-law, the Umayyad caliphate rises to power. Its supporters split as Sunnis. The revenge driven supporters of Ali are the Shia.

    Middle East- muhammad takes over medina

    they signed a peace treaty that said that muslims could worship the ka'ba. they take over all of medina leaving only the black stone

    Muhammad got a message from Allah and he formed the islamic faith. he shared his revelatin with his friends and family. the medina didnt like him and they tried to end him

    During this period the Tang Dynasty ruled China. Under Emperor Xuanzang, the T'ang expanded Chinese territory. Called the "Golden age"

    the Sui empire ends the 350 year "period of disunion". ruled by wendi. bigext acheivment was the grand canal.

    it split into the east half/ the byzantien empire and the west half/latin christendom.
