The Motorola DynaTAC 8000X
In the year 1983, the Motorola DynaTAC 8000X hits the market pricing at $3,995. It came out with the feauture of 30 min talk time. It took 10 hours to charge, and came to be measured at the weight of 1.75 lbs. -
Motorola MicroTAC 9800X
Although many companies tried to top Motorola's "Motorola DynaTAC 8000X". The next big step for the cell phone was the Motorola MicroTAC 9800X. In 1989 while competition were trying to change aspects to the phone to reduce price, Motorola used their time to reduce the size of the mobile phone. The Motorola MicroTAC 9800X was the smallest and lightest mobile phone on the market.

Not focused on size competitors were still dealing with "bricks", meanwhile the MiciroTAC was creating handheld devices which we would call today "a flip phone" which became the mother of our cellphone shape for the future telephone. -
The Nokia 1992
The Nokia 1011 was Nokia's first digital handheld phone. The phone weighed 475g , could store 99 contacts, showed a black and white digital display, had an extendable antenna, and introduced the famous text messaging to the world. This device had up to 90 minutes of talk time and 12 hours standby. -
Nokia 9000 communicator
The 9000 Communicator, Nokia’s handset, introduced the first phone that carried the look of a regular phone and flipped open to disclose a secondary screen and a QWERTY keyboard. It was the first phone that structure itself to promote the use of emails and SMS. Although these features were impressive it weighed at a whopping 393 grams and came preloaded with only 8MB of internal storage, but because of the idea the people overlooked its flaw. -
Ericsson 380
This phone was brought to the shelf at the year 2000. This phone became to be the mother of modern day phones because it is known to be the first ever smart phone. It contained a touch screen and pre-installed apps (could not download your own yet)with 4 hours talk time and 99 available contacts. It contained an EPOC operating system, Organizer,Voice dial, Voice answer, Voice memo, and a Calculator. -
The Black Berry 6210 (Quark)
On the date of 2003 one of the most influential telephones of the decade hit the market the Black Berry Quark. The Black Berry became very popular of the decade because of this invention. The black Berry 6210 was the first phone to be made strictly for the growing demand of text messages and emails. The touch assist keyboard made sure of that. It was pocket sized at the weight of 136 grams. And gave users a current high of 16 MB. -
The Palm Treo 300
This phone brought to the market in 2004 shook the telephone industry. This phone came with the newly featured video phone camera 6 hours of talk time, MP3 player, USB Port, Organizer, and a World Clock -
The Iphone
Known to be the biggest technological break through in the world the iphone. It exceeded by far from competitors by adding every competitor attribute into one phone the size of a 12 year olds hand it had created the idea of downloading applications on a phone and had 8 GB of available information space. It had a camera, downloadable games and thousands of apps. and only had two buttons on the phone
