Court Martial is Convened in Constantinople
A court martial is convened in Constantinople to address several war crimes, including the Armenian genocide. A number of Turkish leaders are found guilty and put to death. -
One of the Three Pashas Killed in Berlin
Talaat Pasha is gunned down in Berlin by Soghomon Tehlirian. Tehlirian claims insanity and is acquitted. The other two are also assassinated soon after. -
Turkish Army Pillages the Village of Smyrna
During the Greco-Turkish War, the Turkish army attacks the villages of Smyrna. Thousands of Greeks and Armenians are slaughtered and the village is burned. This is believed to have been the last massacre against the Armenians.
