Democritus 400 BC
Democritus' model displays his idea that the smallest particle of matter was an atom. It shows no evidence of any subatomic particles, just a single round sphere. Democritus was first person to ever hypothesize an atomic model. His orginial ideas and model were the base of furthering of the atomic theory by other scientists. -
