    It occured on Wall St, New York and it triggered the great depression. It was the most devasting financial crisis the world had ever seen and it had a profound affect on the whole world as the ripple effect crippled the other international markets.

    in 1931 Japan decided to start the invasion of Manchuria. They decided to invade this land because Japan was becoming increasingly over populated and they wanted some more space for their people. Consequently many thousands of people were massacred.

    The atomic bombing of Nagasaki was a nuclear attack of the empire of Japan that killed 80,000 people and affected generations to come. The USA droppped the bomb after Japan attacked Pearl Harbour and it was a direct attempt by the USA to try to get Japan to surrender the war. It affected Australia because it meant that the allied forces wouldnt have to invade mainland Japan where more Australian lives could possible have been lost.

I believe it is very significant because it has shaped the world to how it is today in that China is now becoming the worlds largest superpower and it is having a profound affect on Australia and the modern world in terms of the global econony and trading.

It signified the end of opression in East Germany and it symbolised the demolition of separation between East and West Germany. It was the end of hostility between Western Countries and the USSR and triggered the eventual fall of the Soviets in 1991

    In August of 2001 a Norweigan Tanker rescued 438 refugees from a sinking vessle near christmas island. What followed was a political standoff between Australia and Indonesia as neither country wanted to take responsibility for the asylum seekers. This is significant as it sparked the debate about people trying to gain asylum in our country that still today is not resolved

It revolutionised security around the world, crippled an economy and caused a major war that is only just coming to an end. It has directly impacted Australia because we have had many troops fighting in the afghan war and sadly a number have perished. It is viewed as many as the single most important event of the 21st Century so far.
