    Cause: Europeans didn't like aboriginals. Effect: Aboriginals were not classed as "Human Beings". Chain Reaction: Aboriginals felt sad and felt disincluded in the community.
  • The NSW Aborigines Protection Act built Public Schools

    Cause: Exclusion of Aboriginal children from public schools. Effect: Aboriginal schools are established in NSW. Chain Reaction: In NSW there are 22 Aboriginal schools in 1910, 35 in 1920 and 40 in 1940.

    Cause: It is widely believed to be a ‘dying race’ Effect: Aboriginal population is estimated to be at its lowest at 60,000 - 70,000. Chain Reaction: Most Australians have no contact with Aboriginal people due to segregation and social conventions.

    Cause: The Aboriginals Protested. Effect: Law that non-whites could vote Chain Reaction: Aboriginals given more freedom.

    Cause: New South Wales Protection Board. Effect: Over 150 Aboriginal people pack-up and leave Cummeragunja. Chain Reaction: Thousands protest at the cruel treatment and exploitation of residents by the management.

    Cause: Racism Effect: Non whites could only vote if in WW2 or in state level. Chain Reaction: Less aboriginals could vote.

    Cause: Aboriginals felt angry and sad about not being able to have citizenship. Effect: Aboriginals were allowed citizenship. Chain Reaction: Aboriginals felt more welcome to the community.

    Cause: Aborignals protested. Effect: Aboriginal people in Queensland, Western Australia and the Northern Territory are given the right to vote in federal elections. Chain Reaction: The aboriginal people have more freedom.
  • Equal Wages were given to Aboriginals

    Cause: Aboriginals and whites were outraged about how aboriginals got less money then whites. Effect: Aboriginals got equal wages. Chain Reaction: Aboriginals and whites thought it was fair but aboriginals lost their jobs.
  • Referendum!

    90% voted to legislate Aboriginal people to be counted in the census. People wished and hoped for the end of constitutional descrimination.
