Saul Anointed as King

1050 BCE

The Lord told Samuel to go anoint Saul because the people wanted a king like all the other nations. The Lord chose Saul as king because he was more handsome and tall than all of the other men in the land.

Battle of Michmash (Saul's first battle)

1027 BCE

In this battle Saul brought 3,000 chariots, carrying 2 men and defended by 3 units of 4 infantrymen each 6,000 cavalry Total: 48,000 soldiers

David comes to play harp for King Saul

1026 BCE

King Saul had some anger issues and lost his temper sometimes. His men knew he needed some sort of therapy to calm him down when these evil spirits were upon him. David knew how to play the harp very well and came into Saul's presence to help him.

David Fights Goliath

1025 BCE

The Philistines had a giant warrior named Goliath. No one wanted to fight Goliath because he was too intimidating. David the shepherd boy stepped up and said that he would fight Goliath. Everyone doubted David but God was with him and he struck down Goliath with a sling and a stone.

Saul pursues David

1023 BCE

Soon after he was crowned king, Saul started making some bad decisions and God started to regret his decision of making Saul king. The Lord sent Samuel to find and anoint yet another king. Samuel anointed David to be king later on in his life. Once king Saul found out about David's anointing, he was not happy. He started trying to kill David while he was playing the harp for him.

David flees from Saul

1021 BCE

After Saul tried to kill him twice, David had decided that he was going to flee from the kingdom of king Saul. Saul's son Jonathan had an extremely goof relationship with David and they were very good friends. After they said their goodbyes to each other, David fled into the wilderness, away from the wrath of Saul.

David flees to Samuel

1021 BCE

Saul persecutes David after David wins another battle, and tries to pin him to the wall with his spear. His wife tells him to run, and she makes it look like he is in his bed sleeping. David then escapes to Samuel at Ramah.

David goes to Ahimelech, Priest at Nob

1020 BCE

David goes to Nob where the sanctuary and approaches Ahimelech, He asks him for food. He gives him the Holy Bread and Goliaths sword. David is not truthful about his business

David in cave at Adullam

1018 BCE

David flees to a cave in Adullam. Some of his family and others who are not happy with Saul's reign, are also there. David becomes the commander of a small army of about four hundred men.

David Spares Saul's life

1016 BCE

When Saul pursues David to En Gedi, He goes into a cave to relieve himself. David and some of his men are hiding at the back of the cave. David sneaks up behind Saul and cuts off part of his robe. Saul goes home without knowing what happened.

Saul's Death

1010 BCE

Saul and his army (including his sons) went to fight the Philistines at Mount Gilboa. His sons were killed. When Saul heard this he told his armor bearer to stab and kill him. The armor bearer refused. Saul then purposely fell on his sword, killing himself.

David becomes king over Israel

1003 BCE

After Saul's death, David became king over Judah. After a civil war where Abner and Ishbosheth are murdered, the people ask David to be king over all of Israel. David then begins his reign of forty years.

Solomon's Reign

Period: 1000 BCE to 962

Solomon reigned over Israel for forty years

David's kindness to Mephibosheth

997 BCE

David wants to show kindness to Jonathans family. When he finds out that Jonathan had a son named Mephibosheth, who is lame from being dropped as a child, so he invites him to come and eat at the kings table like one of his sons.

David and his plans for the temple

997 BCE

After David brought the Ark of the Covenant to Jerusalem, he wanted to build a permanent place for the sanctuary. He hires Nathan to help him and Nathan says "Do It" but David later finds out that it won't be him who builds the temple, it will be his sons.

David's Census

974 BCE

Satan comes to David and tells him to number all of Israel and Judah. Earlier God told him not to number everyone in Israel. He realized that he had done wrong in the Lords eyes, he was very ashamed of what he had done.

Solomon Crowned King

970 BCE

David's son Adonigah crowns himself king but David crowns Solomon king before he dies.

David's Death

970 BCE

David dies in his old age in Jerusalem after reigning for about forty years

Solomon asks for Wisdom

967 BCE

Solomon has a dream and God asks him, "Ask, what shall I give you!" Solomon asks for wisdom and a discerning heart. God is pleased with his request and promises to give him a long life of wisdom and wealth if he obeys

Solomon's Temple

957 BCE

Solomon builds the house of the Lord to make it look like the tabernacle and the Garden of Eden.

Queen of Sheba

945 BCE

The queen of Sheba heard of Solomon's wealth so she came to visit him. Solomon showed her everything in his kingdom.

King Hiram

944 BCE

King Hiram provided much of the materials that Solomon needed to build the temple

Solomon's Fall

931 BCE

Solomon grew away from the Lord and ended up having seven hundred wives and three hundred concubines. His wives led him away from God and started to worship his wives Gods.

Jeroboam

930 BCE

He reigned for 22 years in Israel. He did what was evil in the Lords eyes

Baasha's Reign

Period: 928 BCE to 886 BCE

Baasha reigned for twenty four years over Israel. He was a bad king

Abijam Reigns

913 BCE

Abijam Reigned for three years and did what was evil in the Lords eyes. He went to war against Jeroboam

Asa Reigns

Period: 910 BCE to 873 BCE

Asa reigned for forty one years and was a good king who did right in the Lords eyes. He dies and was buried in Jerusalem

Asa fights the Ethiopians

901 BCE

The Ethiopians have a million men coming at Asa's army of only 500,000. Asa prays to God to help them and they beat the other army.

Nadab

900 BCE

He reigned for 2 years in Israel and did evil in the Lords eyes.

Elah's Reign

Period: 886 BCE to 885 BCE

Elah was a bad king. He reigned over Israel for two years.

Zimri's Reign

884 BCE

Zimri reigned for seven days in Israel. He was a bad king

Omri's Reign

Period: 884 BCE to 872 BCE

Omri was the worst king that Israel had ever had. He reigned for twelve years in Israel.

Ahab Reign

Period: 872 BCE to 853 BCE

Ahab was even worse than his father and reigned for twenty two years. He also married Jezebel.

God provides food for Elijah

870 BCE

He provides for Elijah and sends crows with bread and meat to Elijah.

Elijah and the prophets of Baal

868 BCE

Elijah sets up two altars and whoever's God sends fire from heaven first is the real God

Elijah and the mountain of God

867 BCE

Jezebel threatens to kill Elijah so he flees to the mountain of God. God tells him to annoint a new king and prophet

Ahaziah Reigns

Ahaziah was the son of Ahab and reigned for two years. He fell through the lattice of the upper chamber and became sick.

Elijah gets taken up to heaven

Elijah and Elisha are walking along when Elijah is taken by a chariot of fiery horses come down and take him up to heaven.

Queen Athaliah

Queen Athaliah killed the whole royal family.

begins to reign when he is seven years old. He reigns for forty years in Israel.

Jeroboam was the son of Joash and reigned forty one years in Israel. he did evil in the sight of the Lord.

He reigned in Israel for 6 months and did evil in the sight of the Lord.

He reigned for 31 years over Judah and began his reign when he was 8 years old. He did what was right in the Lords eyes and followed in the ways of David. He also destroyed all of the idols and altars and cleanses everything in his eighth year. In his eighteenth year, he rebuilt the temple.
