    King Saul had some anger issues and lost his temper sometimes. His men knew he needed some sort of therapy to calm him down when these evil spirits were upon him. David knew how to play the harp very well and came into Saul's presence to help him.

    Soon after he was crowned king, Saul started making some bad decisions and God started to regret his decision of making Saul king. The Lord sent Samuel to find and anoint yet another king. Samuel anointed David to be king later on in his life. Once king Saul found out about David's anointing, he was not happy. He started trying to kill David while he was playing the harp for him.

    After Saul tried to kill him twice, David had decided that he was going to flee from the kingdom of king Saul. Saul's son Jonathan had an extremely goof relationship with David and they were very good friends. After they said their goodbyes to each other, David fled into the wilderness, away from the wrath of Saul.

    When Saul pursues David to En Gedi, He goes into a cave to relieve himself. David and some of his men are hiding at the back of the cave. David sneaks up behind Saul and cuts off part of his robe. Saul goes home without knowing what happened.

    Saul and his army (including his sons) went to fight the Philistines at Mount Gilboa. His sons were killed. When Saul heard this he told his armor bearer to stab and kill him. The armor bearer refused. Saul then purposely fell on his sword, killing himself.

    David wants to show kindness to Jonathans family. When he finds out that Jonathan had a son named Mephibosheth, who is lame from being dropped as a child, so he invites him to come and eat at the kings table like one of his sons.
