  • Navigation Act

    Navigation Act
    The Navigation Act from 1650-1696 was that trade with colonies was through only English or Colonial ships.
    The colonies were not happy with it but the government profited from it and liked it.
  • Sugar Act

    Sugar Act
    The Sugar Act was a tax on molasses and sugar which was a lesser tax than the one in the Molasses Act.
    The colonies were concerned because they didn't have very much money at the time.
    The British government was making money off of these taxes but wanted to make sure the taxes actually got payed.
  • Stamp Act

    Stamp Act
    The Stamp Act was a tax on all papers and documents of the colonies. The colonies were very angry and resentful toward the British because they thought the tax was unfair.
    The British government thought it was a good way to pay for war expenses. Later they repeal the act.
  • Declaratory Act

    The Declaratory Act was British government's taxing authority was the same in The Americas as it was in Britain.
    The colonies were very upset about this and The British were insensitive towards the colonies.
  • Townshend Act

    Townshend Act
    The Townshend Act was a tax on glass, lead,paint, paper, and tea.
    The colonies felt the government was abusing their powers.
    The British government eventually repealed the taxes on everything except tea.
